CleanCode

What is the difference between Clean Code and Clean Coding?

„Clean Code“ is an old term that focusses on source code. The german movement Clean Code Developer extends the term by differentiating between principles, i.e. best practises for keeping the source code clean, und practices, a collection of actions that keep the development process clean.

To expand the view and trying to see the whole, we created the term Clean Coding Cosmos. A cosmos is supposed to include all. For the developer cosmos, this means e.g. requirement engineering, project management und operation.

We like to go a step further than the Clean Code Developer movement and aim to consider all factors influencing the software and its development. Due to this holistic goal, we use cosmological metaphor in order to create a structure for the complex world of software development that allows to keep the whole really in view.

This holistic view of the Clean Coding Cosmos also looks onto the dark side of software development. This is important to recognize in which area the biggest need of action exists.

The appeal of the Clean Code Developer to software developer to act always with professionalism is valuable, but mainly for idealists. Only idealists do have enough instrinsic Motivation to act consequently and permanently only to an appeal. The approach of the Clean Coding Cosmos is also to use extrinsic motivation. An social way of mutual controlling is for many developers much more helpful. To help this working we advise the Team Clean Coding.

Sehr interessant! Gute grafische Gestaltung!

Kleiner Tippfehler auf Seite 2 „2. Code versus Coding“ im 1. Absatz:

…, d.h. Maßnahmen, die den Quellcode sauber halten …

(Auch korrekte Zeichensetzung gehört zu diesem Thema!)
